The Regency Staff is monitoring Tropical Storm Erika. Since the very large "cone" includes the Treasure Coast being on the "dirty" side of the storm (NE area), we are being proactive in our efforts. All unit shutters are installed and only Punch List items are being addressed. The scaffolding company has been contacted to remove the swing stage on each building this week.
Staff is doing initial survey of balcony items on west side crossover (03 / 04) units. The balconies in emergency crossover areas do not have shutters along the rail to protect personal items on those balconies. Since these balcony areas are limited common elements and the alternative emergency exits to access the other tower, the shutters are located close to unit sliders to provide emergency only crossings. If a storm threatens the Treasure Coast, Staff removes all furniture, plants, or other items from those areas.
AT THIS TIME, please do not put too much concern into what local cable stations or networks report. The forecast predictions are varied and the most reliable site to monitor the Erika storm is the National Hurricane Center www.nhc.noaa.gov
Another Erika update will be sent tomorrow morning.
