Dear Regency residents, The projected track of Hurricane Irma continues to indicate the possibility of severe winds and storm surge at the Regency. All major public areas and elevator lobbies in both buildings have now been shuttered, as well as the pool cabana and the pool guard house.
Martin County just issued a mandatory evacuation order for all residences on Jupiter Island, Hutchinson Island and Sewall's Point. We expect that St. Lucie County will shortly issue a similar order for residences within the county on North and South Hutchinson Island.
Tomorrow, Friday, the Regency staff will begin at noon turning off the breakers in all units while ensuring the shutters are securely locked. If you are still in the community and need to request a certain timeframe, we will accommodate requests until 2pm. The buildings will be shut down shortly there-after.
If you are presently in residence, please plan to evacuate the building Friday before 3pm. Once the main power is shut down, there will be no elevator service nor emergency lighting. We highly recommend all residents evacuate the Barrier Island as there is no emergency assistance during the storm.
The staff and I will continue to provide you updates via One Call Now, www.the-regency.com and the hurricane hotline (866-973-4362) after it is safe for us to return to the island once the storm passes.
