TIPS FOR SECURING YOUR UNIT WHEN LEAVING

 

WHEN LEAYING YOUR UNIT FOR AN EXTENDED PRIOR OF TIME.

HIRING A CONDO CHECKER IS NECESSARY.

PROVIDE YOUR CONDO CHECKER WITH YOUR UNIT KEY

  • Turn on the air conditioning and set the thermostat at 78 degrees.

  • The dehumidifier should be set at 65 degrees (humidity) and the thermostat at 75 degrees.

  • Unplug major appliances and turn off the circuit breaker for the water heater.

  • Although a surge protector reduces the risk of a blow-out, there is still the possibility of fire.

  • Remove ALL perishables from the refrigerator and freezer. Failure to do so will result in a minimum $100. fee if electric is off for an extended period of time and Regency staff has to clean out owner's refrigerator/ freezer items.

  • Turn off the ice maker. The motor will burn out if no water is circulating.

  • Run two trays of ice cubes through the garbage disposal, then sanitize with baking soda and water.

  • Turn off the main water supply to your unit. It is located in the laundry room.

  • Do not leave flour or pasta products stored in cupboards as they create a favorable environment for insects.

  • Do not use plastic to cover furniture, it traps moisture.

  • Leave bedroom doors, drawers, closets and cabinets ajar.

  • Bring in all patio furniture, plants and movable objects from the balconies.

  • CLOSE ALL HURRICANE SHUTTERS. No shutters are permitted to be left open.

  • Do not leave your unit with the stove/ oven, dishwasher, or washer/ dryer operating.

  • Inspect washer hoses and replace if needed.

  • Inspect water heater and replace if needed - recommended to be replaced at least every 10 years.

  • If leaving a vehicle on the property, leave a set of vehicles keys with Security (REQUIRED).
